How easy is to go Aherne's for the weekend? Very Easy. Just look at the facts;
1) Cork airport a 1 hour direct flight from most of the UK's airports. Direct flights from Heathrow, London
City, Stansted, Luton, Birmingham, Coventry, East Midlands, Southampton, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Cardiff, Plymouth, Glasgow and Edinburgh
2) Many of the low-cost operators regularly offer fantastic deals to Cork. (I've twice done the round trip for 2p - plus taxes of course!)
3) Airlines with DIRECT flight routes into Cork are: 4) Arriving in Cork is quick and easy.
Cork is a small airport and arrival is unfussy and quick. New security measures will now mean that you have to show your passport (or Photo ID) - they didn't bother with that until recently. Baggage return is quick, but if you only have hand luggage you'll be outside the airport within 2 minutes of leaving the airplane. 5) Aherne's is just less than 40 minutes from the Airport. Compared to the rest of Europe, Ireland has fewer cars per head of population, and traffic is therefore light. The N25 is the main route across the south of Ireland,
and runs from airport hill right into Youghal. You can hire a car easily at the airport, or if you prefer we'll arrange for you to be met and brought directly to us. 6) Car hire - for more independence - or longer stays. Car hire is best to be arranged before you travel, and the best deals are usually found on the internet. Cork is a major - all season - tourist destination and therefore all of the major car hire firms are represented at Cork airport. 7) Currency - You'll need your Euro's. Just like the rest of Europe, Ireland is in the Euro zone so you'll need to change some money. Its easy at the airport, but even easier to use the cash machines in Cork Airport, or Youghal high street - they all accept UK bank cash cards. Your credit cards will be accepted as widely as they
are at home, and of course they'll be accepted at Aherne's. 8) Language - English everywhere. Although you'll see Irish language signs, and might even find an Irish
language TV or Radio station, English is the language of choice for almost everyone....But be prepared, some of the common words have subtely different meanings in Ireland, and the Irish tend to speak very fast! 9) Weather - Mild climate. Ireland is known for its wet climate, and its true that certain parts of the country are the wettest in Europe. But Youghal sits on the south coast and is warmed by the gulf stream. In the winter we never have snow, and rarely see frost. Throughout the rest of the year the climate stays warm, sometimes wet, and sometimes hot. Basically the weather in Youghal, is just like it is in Cornwall. 10) Booking Direct - Saving Money.
