- We had a lovely weekend , and really enjoyed the "beach" walk .
- We decided to get away for a nice weekend and specifically researched places providing accommodation and outstanding seafood - Aherne's came out top on the shortlist. The booking process could not have been more simple, I made a special request for some flowers to be in the room as it was our anniversary, we packed and off we went. From the moment we set foot in the door, until the depressing time we realised we were leaving, we were treated as though we were long-lost friends in someones home, David and all the team were attentive without being overbearing and false, ensuring our needs were met (if not exceeded) at all times throughout our stay. Food - after all it's what we came to Aherne's for... We had a late lunch in the bar when we arrived, that set the scene - delicious and very reasonable priced. Our first night we ate in the dining room and enjoyed the most utterly devine seafood, prepared to perfection served in an unpretentious but refined manner, accompanied by two wines that were chosen from an extensive but very reasonably priced selection. So impressed by our dinner on the first night we actually changed plans for eating elsewhere and ate in the dining room for our second night and did not regret our decision such was the quality. We are already in discussion as to when we can squeeze in our next weekend to Aherne's, sooner rather than later. David & team, thanks for helping make what was a memorable weekend such a special one too!
- The athmosphere in Ahernes is excellent ,enhanced by the friendly staff and welcoming fire in the reading room. The food is top class and the comfort of the large beds tops off a delightful stay.
